Tippy Toes, 2/28 @ Coco66

Having not played (or rehearsed) together since November, Tippy Toes took the stage at Coco66 on Saturday night and hit it out of the park.  Bombing space bass from Andrew Raposo provided a steady platform for the full room to dance on throughout the set…and dance they did. It was jammed out disco at it’s finest with Reggie Watts adding soulful hip-hop vocals that were run thru a synth board of loops and effects.  Solid work from guitarist Abe Seiferth, drummer Guy Licata, and keyboardist Morgan Wiley rounded out the strong line-up.

A grooving set of disco from DJ Matt Thornle had the crowd revved up before the show and still dancing after the band left the stage.

It was my first trip to Coco66 and its size and set up reminded me of Mercury Lounge with a little more elbow room. The $3 cover and $3 PBR’s made the trip to Greenpoint especially worthwhile.

Keep an eye on Tippy Toes blog for news of the next gig.

More pictures after the jump.

This 4 foot tall jade plant (tree?) was the tallest one I’ve ever seen and was casually standing on the dance floor next to the stage all night.  Nice…
