Gilles Peterson returns to NYC

January 8, 2010

King of the Crates, Gilles Peterson, will return to NYC to spin for the first time since ’08, playing Littlefield in Brooklyn on January 29th (tix) and Cielo with Francois K on February 1st (tix).  $15 each.  His uncanny ability to discover hits from all over the globe make for some of the most eclectic and mindblowing DJ sets I’ve ever heard.  Gilles has risen to cult-fame thru his radio show on the BBC’s Radio One, as owner of Brownswood Recordings and as curator of the excellent Gilles Peterson Presents record series.

Make it to at least one of these gigs.  It’s the words of Weezy, you know it’s gonna melt.

Video interview of Gilles after the jump.
