It’s safe to say that Sasquatch was the best festival I’ve ever been to. The line-up featured some of my favorite artists along with a lot that I’d never seen before. The electronic music (especially Deadmau5 and Boys Noize) had the crowds dancing with passion. The venue (The Gorge) was not only the most beautiful I’ve ever, but the layout was easy to navigate. You could slip between the mainstage lawn and the dance tent (the two stages that were farthest apart) in about 90 seconds. Compared to the 20-minute hike between the Lollapalooza mainstages, this is a dream and allows you to miss a lot less. The crowd size was much more manageable too. They allowed 25,000 – 30,000 people in per day compared to the 80,000 per day at Bonnaroo. This means shorter lines for beer & bathrooms, less headaches trying to find your friends when your phone dies and a better chance of running into people you met the day before. The camping was cool too. We were able to spread out in a grassy field with great views and good neighbors. I kept a running log of the events on Tumblr. Slideshow of pictures below.
